Miyagi Records is a Chicago-based record dealer since 2002. They specialize in the obscure and classic - Soul, Funk, Jazz, Latin, Rock, Blues, World Music, New Wave / Industrial, Hip-Hop, Disco, House in LP, 12inch single, & 45rpm formats. Influenced by the hyper-curated, hidden away vinyl shops of Tokyo, Japan, their goal is to become your 'secret spot.'
Cartridge Thunder
Cartridge Thunder is a record label based in Chicago, IL. They produce and distribute officially licensed collectible media, primarily on the vinyl format. In addition, they are authorized distributors of today's most exciting producers in the collectible space: NECA, Mondo, Light in the Attic, and more.

Del Pueblo Records (Chicago)
Del Pueblo Barbers & Records, located in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago, was founded by friends Jon & Leo during the Summer of 2020. This unique project on the Southside combines their passion for hair cuts & rare deep cuts in all physical formats. Del Pueblo Records carries an array of genres but prides itself with its heavy Latin American catalog ranging from scarce tropical rhythms to regional Norteño & Tejano gems. "El Disco es Cultura".


Imperial Records
Fueled by a strong love for music and audio quality Jack Johnson has been collecting for the majority of his life and is now taking steps into the world of vending. After selling privately for a few years, Jack is working on developing his brand by the name of Imperial Records specializing in jazz, blues, metal, and rock of all kinds.
No Requests (Chicago)
No Requests is the off-shoot record shop of the Feeltrip record label and artist collective based in Chicago IL. They specialize in local music, screen printed apparel, 'zines, posters, and anything DIY. They hold monthly events throughout the city and work / collaborate within Chicago's vast DIY scene.

CVC 009: DJs / Live Performers

Jesse De La Pena
Jesse is the host and producer of Vocalo’s “5 O’Clock Mix” and the “Friday Night DJ Series”. He’s the founder of the Vocalo’s DJ Collective, “Quest 4 The Best” DJ Competition and the Know Chicago music series. He also curates special music programming that highlights artists that are meaningful to the Urban Alternative experience.
A member of Chicago’s music scene since the mid 80’s and key contributor to the city’s early Hip Hop, House and Dance music community as a DJ, musician, event promoter, music retailer, and co-founder of the Grammy-nominated band Liquid Soul.

Jaytoo
A long-time vendor resident at CVC, Jaytoo is stepping away from the dealer's table and manning the decks at CVC 009! Expect an eclectic and highly danceable set!

Backpack Beatz
Devante Jefferson, also known as Backpack Beatz, is a producer & DJ hailing from Milton, FL. Backpack has been DJ’ing for 10 years collectively, but just recently started using the crates he samples to DJ. A relatively new member of the Chicago vinyl community, Backpack’s only goal is to spread the vibe of good music with every set.

Hameedullah
Hameedullah is a Chicago-based DJ, producer, and emcee. While you’ll likely see him spinning records around the city, you’ll also find him cooking up beats and rhyming as well. He’s influenced by hip-hop but also all of the other musical elements that make up hip-hop, with each finding their way into his wide-ranging DJ sets.

Grant Crusor
After rifling through the record collections of his parents, his friend's parents, and his family, Grant knew at an early age he had an odd obsession with vinyl. This passion led him to begin South Rhodes Records but before he even sold his first record, you could find him placed squarely behind a set of 1200s. Expect soulful tunes of all eras with a focus on the classic and modern era New Jack Sound.
